Purple Night Romania 2025

Date:03/12/2025 6:00 pm
Location:

The Romanian Diversity Chamber of Commerce (RDCC) proudly announces the fifth edition of Purple Night Romania (PNR), a nationwide awareness campaign marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd.

Each year, companies, municipalities, embassies, and organizations across Romania illuminate their buildings in purple, symbolizing unity, accessibility, and respect for the nearly one million Romanians living with visible and invisible disabilities.

A Record of Progress and Solidarity

In 2024, over 115 landmarks nationwide — including ministries, embassies, universities, and corporate headquarters — lit up in purple, from Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Iași, Constanța, and Baia Mare. This record participation reflected a growing national commitment to equality, accessibility, and inclusion across both public and private sectors.

Building on this success, Purple Night Romania 2025 aims to inspire an even broader movement — uniting businesses, local authorities, NGOs, and citizens to transform the colour purple into a beacon of solidarity and inclusion across the country.

Purple Night Romania is more than a symbolic act — it’s a collective statement of empathy, unity, and respect. Each light that shines on December 3rd reflects the promise of a more accessible Romania, one that recognises the potential of every person. Inclusion starts with awareness, but it grows through consistent action — in our workplaces, our cities, and our communities,” said Estera Anghelescu, President of the Romanian Diversity Chamber of Commerce and Recruiting & Employer Branding Director at Kaufland Romania.

New for 2025: The “Purple Public Transport” Campaign

This year, Purple Night Romania 2025 introduces a new communication campaign within public transportation, aimed at bringing the message of inclusion directly into people’s daily lives. Throughout December, buses, trams, and metro stations in the capital will feature visuals and powerful messages promoting accessibility, empathy, and equal opportunity.

Partner organizations can join this nationwide initiative by displaying their logo and supporting messages on public transport. By doing so, brands will become ambassadors of positive change, contributing to a public conversation about the importance of accessibility and inclusion.
