GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare announces the appointment of Nigel Stephenson as the new General Manager for Romania and Balkans.
In this role, Nigel will lead the operations of GSK Consumer Healthcare in Romania and other 7 countries – Bulgaria, Serbia, Republic of Moldova, Albania, Macedonia, Muntenegro and Kosovo. GSK Consumer Healthcare has a dedicated team of 150 people in the cluster who help supply and market the company’s well-known consumer portofolio of products including overthe-counter medicines (pain management, cold & flu and allergy remedies) food supplements and oral healthcare products.
Nigel has extensive experience in sales and marketing roles across the globe, including his most recent position as CEE Area Marketing Director Oral Healthcare. In this role he led the marketing function across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and contributed to develop customer strategies and category growth plans for international key accounts in the area. Prior to this, Nigel held several positions in GSK and Novartis Consumer Health as Respiratory Global Portfolio Director and Head of Innovation for Europe. Before GSK and Novartis, he spent 10 years with P&G, both in customer business development roles in the UK and later in a series of local, regional an global marketing roles.

Nigel graduated History and Economics at University of Birmingham, UK. He is British, father of two children, having worked and lived in several countries around the globe, like Brazil, USA, Switzerland, France and Poland. As a big outdoors fan, he enjoys biking and snowboarding in the vacations he spends with his family.
Nigel will continue the successful work of Sylwia Piankowska, who now took over the Iberia business in GSK Consumer Healthcare.
