In 2018, more and more insurance companies in Romania have included health insurances in their service portfolio and have launched new plans or have developed and improved the existing ones. Most private health insurance solutions cover the territory of Romania due to the fact that they are designed especially to constitute a benefit that can be included in the compensation package of the employees.
MediHelp insurance plans are the most comprehensive on the market
One of the permanent challenges of MediHelp International in recent years has been the desire to align with the changing market demands. Specifically, between September and November 2018, MediHelp conducted an internal project aimed at studying the development of the private health insurance market. Its results have shown that our insurance plans are the most comprehensive due to: the international coverage area, the complex benefits and the generous coverage limit.
In 2019 we want to make further changes to our insurance plans in order to make them easier to understand, more flexible and easier to promote by MediHelp International insurance partners. That’s why for 2019 we are preparing innovative insurance products to be more attractive and more accessible on the market, explains Elena Ciobanu – Operations Manager, MediHelp International.
One of the industry development directions identified at the end of last year refers to many international insurance companies wishing to enter the Romanian market. This is due to the growing need of Romanians to access medical insurances with international coverage, as well as the lack of plans to meet all their expectations, in particular the global coverage of the highest-quality medical investigations and the state-of-the-art treatments.
Education of the private health insurance market
Education of the private health insurance market is another MediHelp goal for 2019. We are aware that the current level of education on the importance of accessing private health insurance is not yet satisfactory. That is why we intend to involve this year in the education process through various campaigns and projects, Elena Ciobanu adds.
