The main event this month was ‘British Weeks’, concluding with our Great British Garden Party!

‘A mighty oak was once a little Acorn’ was the message of this year’s event – during which we celebrated the growth of our nursery, as this was the first Garden Party since we opened our location in Aviatiei.

We celebrated it with authentic British food and drinks. Children and parents enjoyed traditional fun games and many other suprises such us a raffle with LOTS of prizes.

The luckiest ones won special prizes from our partners: Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest, BluParty, British Corner Shop, Estetiq Medical Center, Laura Hîncu – Exclusive Fashion Design, SWEET FLY,Teatrul InDArt, Maya’s Amazing Bookland, Rachel Sargent and Alan Clark.

Special thanks to: British Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC),Netherlands Romanian Chamber of Commerce – NRCC and Casa Ioana!

Previous to the event, all groups in the nursery focused their activities on learning about famous British people, British symbols and characters/people.

Baby Acorns set off on a magical bus ride to London, making their own red bus and singing “The wheels on the bus” and built a giant “London bridge” from mattresses and giant soft shapes which they tried crossing by crawling/jumping/running. On Friday, the children enjoyed a tea party in the garden while reading books with Peter Rabbit.

Shiny Stars pretended to be detectives and solved mysteries, just like James Bond. Next, they learnt about cooking and pretended for a day to be Jamie Oliver. Also, they investigated and tested bridges within their construction area and read books based on British characters such as Paddington, Spot and Peppa Pig.

Rainbows learnt about a famous inventor (Graham Bell), went on an imaginary holiday to U.K and learnt how to pack a suitcase being inspired by a British character and watching a clip “Mr. Bean packs his suitcase”. Linked to the Music theme they were introduced to a famous British band ( The Beatles), learnt their names and instruments they played.
