David Grant, with over 25 years academic experience in marketing and logistics and 15 years experience in technical design, corporate banking and retailing and distribution.

About prof. David Grant: is Professor of Logistics at Hull University Business School, UK and Professor of Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility at Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki. Research interests include logistics customer service, satisfaction and quality; retail logistics; logistics and supply chain relationships; reverse, closed-loop and sustainable logistics; and research methodologies and techniques. Recent research has investigated on-shelf availability and out-of-stocks, total loss and waste in food retailing, forecasting and obsolete inventory, service quality of internet retailers, and consumer logistics and shopping convenience in both grocery and non-grocery contexts.
His doctoral thesis investigated customer service, satisfaction and service quality in UK food processing logistics and received James Cooper Memorial Cup PhD Award from Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) in 2003. Prof. Grant wrote over 200 publications in various refereed journals, books and conference proceedings. He is Editorial board member for numerous international academic journals. He recieved the Professional Certificate in University Teaching from the University of Edinburgh and is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
Visiting appointments have included Silla Corona Distinguished Visiting Professor, Universidad de los Andes, Bogota (2015), École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur (ESCE), Paris (2014/2016), Institut für Handel und Marketing, Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (WU), Vienna (2009), and Centre de Recherche sur le Transport et la Logistique (CRET-LOG), Aix-Marseille Université, Aix-en-Provence (2008-09). International adjunct appointments include Mannheim Business School, Mannheim, École nationale des ponts et chaussées (ENPC), Paris, and the WU Executive Academy, Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (WU), Vienna.
About the Executive Talk speaker: Dr. Calin Vaduva is the CEO and co-founder of Fortech company, leading the company’s organizational and business development, successfully positioning Fortech as one of the most representative Romanian companies in IT outsourcing. Prior to founding Fortech, Mr Vaduva worked in software development, starting as software developer and moving up the ladder to technical manager. He has also been an associate professor at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and has served as a member of the Directors’ Council of the CLUJ IT cluster.
