On September 6th at 7pm, The Church of the Resurrection will welcome Mariana Preda & Juho Myllylä who will perform L’eclat D’Air, an innovative concert of baroque and early music that promises to be unforgettable.
Mariana Preda and Juho Myllylä are an international duo that explores the expressive potential of panflute and recorder. Their program L’éclat d’air invites audiences on a musical journey spanning three centuries, with unique interpretations of pieces by composers such as Johann Walter, Georg Philipp Telemann, and Dimitrie Cantemir.
Mariana Preda is a Romanian panflute player based in Amsterdam, known for her refined classical training and versatile performance style. A graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in classical/contemporary panflute, she has performed internationally at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York), the Romanian Atheneum (Bucharest), and Dutch National Opera (Amsterdam), and at festivals including Untold, Grachtenfestival, and Gaudeamus. Her work blends classical, contemporary, and folk influences, and she is committed to expanding the panflute’s role in the modern concert repertoire.
Juho Myllylä is a Finnish recorder player and interdisciplinary musician whose artistry bridges early music and contemporary experimentation. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in recorder from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and performs regularly across Europe with ensembles such as The Royal Wind Music and Ensemble Gamut!. A prizewinner of the Nordic & Baltic EAR-ly competition and the International Van Wassenaer Competition, Juho is also active as a composer, guitarist, and electronic music creator, continuously exploring new sound worlds across genres.
