Harp & Cello Duo Concert – Church of the Resurrection – Friday 26 April

Date:26/04/2024 7:00 pm
Location:Strada Xenopol Nr. 2, Sector 1, Bucharest

A week from Friday we will be hosting a concert by a lovely harp and cello duo, Miruna and Radu Nagy. It is a rare opportunity to hear this beautiful combination of sounds live in a program they have entitled “The Sound Map of the Soul.”

This concert is the April 2024 event for the Church of the Resurrection’s Arts Calendar. Proceeds from Arts at the Anglican support the musicians and our historic building and community.

In this concert, Miruna and Radu Nagy will guide the audience through “The Sound Map of the Soul.” The harmoniously merging sounds of the cello and harp will reveal entire landscapes and cultures, overcoming the limits and borders of time and space to uncover how people expressed their feelings and experiences through music in different eras. This concert is a homage to the universal nature of music, to its spiritual and eternal language that nurtures and transforms the soul.

Miruna and Radu Nagy will perform a repertoire spanning composers from J. S. Bach to Charlie Chaplin, including favorites such as Händel’s “Ombra mai fú,” Couperin’s “Pièces en concert,” and Fauré´s “Après un rêve,” as well as “Danse oriental” by E. Granados, “Meditation” by F. Bridge, “Romanian Serenade” by T. Dumitrescu, and “In the Limelight” by Chaplin.

Miruna and Radu Nagy have returned to Romania after more than 30 years of studies, travels, and exceptional musical experiences in Germany, the U.S., Italy, and France.
