No School until September? How do you keep young people engaged, motivated, and not getting into trouble? Well the Duke of Edinburgh (Award) has been keeping young people motivated, physically active, learning and out of trouble for over 60 years.

We all know the current narrative

“Across the globe, people are adjusting to social distancing and lockdown as a result of Covid-19. Young people at school and those in further and higher education are significantly impacted by cancelled exams and closures. This pandemic has re-written the way that we interact and the ways in which we go about our daily lives”

The Duke of Edinburgh (Award) provides an avenue for young people to continue to learn skills, keep physically fit, healthy, stay community minded and focused, keep occupied and motivated to learn away from school!

The Online Record Book, a mobile application produced by the Duke of Edinburgh, provides access to the Award program, a young person can download it and learn a skill (at home); will be assigned to a mentor remotely who will guide them through the program. Rewards are given upon completion of each level, bronze, silver and gold.

The classroom is not the only place to nurture the potential of our country’s greatest natural resources – it’s young people. We don’t have a choice, learning from home is a must, so make this time count, and sign up to do you Duke of Edinburgh Award!
