We are proud to announce Smart Energy Expo® 2024, an event organized by the Constanța Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Navigation, and Agriculture, with the Ministry of Energy as a strategic partner, taking place from the 19th of September until the 21st of September. Smart Energy Expo® 2024 brings together professionals, companies, and organizations from diverse fields, including renewable energy, photovoltaic systems, electric vehicle charging stations, lighting solutions, software and hardware, Smart Cities infrastructure, Smart Home technologies, and construction materials for high-energy-performance buildings.
 
 
Among the already registered exhibitors are renowned companies such as Nuclearelectrica, Celco, Monsson, Eurovial, TSM Synergy, Rig Service, Poșta Română, CTBus, HVAC Ventilation Systems, Ejot, Graphtec, and a national pavilion organized by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Embassy of Hungary in Bucharest, hosting seven companies from the field in Hungary, among many others.
 
 
The event includes thematic workshops led by industry specialists, offering an excellent platform for networking and identifying new partnerships. We are pleased to announce the presence of two prestigious moderators who will guide the discussions at Smart Energy Expo® 2024: Radu Magdin, an analyst and strategic communication consultant, and Bogdan Pletea, representative of the British-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC), an expert in risk management and sustainability strategy with extensive international experience. They will moderate the panels on the first two days of the event, ensuring informed and dynamic debates alongside leaders and experts in the field.

Bogdan Pletea – ESG Risk & Sustainability Strategist
 

Having a strategic and solution-oriented approach to risk management, Bogdan works with organisations to integrate ESG & climate-related risks into strategy. By translating sustainability strategies in practice, Bogdan helps large companies to improve their operational resilience and ESG & climate data disclosure in accordance with current regulations and sector best practice. Bogdan has an extensive expertise in management consulting, risk management and sustainability strategy, gained in over 20 years of international practice in the UK, Spain, Austria and Romania, in energy, tourism, insurance and banking sector. He is a member of the Institute for Risk Management (IRM) in London, has an international degree in Risk Management and has completed an MBA program at the International Institute of Management in Paris. He is also vice-president of Climate Change Special Interest Group (SIG) of IRM London an co- published in September 2021 the first IRM climate risk management guide designed to support boards of directors and risk managers in all sectors of activity.

 

Speakers:

Ramona Moldovan – Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Energy

Ramona Moldovan is the Deputy General Secretary of the Romanian Ministry of Energy.

She is a graduate of bachelor and master degrees in political and administrative sciences, with more than 18 years’ experience in the Romanian and Western Balkans governmental businesses and management of public sector related reforms and funding and over 10 years in coordination and management positions in public sector institutions. Over the years she had strategic management positions in the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Investments and European Project and Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalisation.

She is a former employee of World Bank and Ecole Nationale D’ Administration (ENA) where she worked on public administration reform and policy making agenda. Ms. Moldovan has long experience on strategic governmental affairs and policy making, planning, coordination and implementation of EU Funds, including National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the management of the relations with International Organisations. In the Ministry of Energy, Ms Moldovan coordinates and contributes to the strategic decision making on the policies and implementation of financing programmes related to green energy and energy efficiency.

 

Mircea Valentin Cârlan: General Director of the General Direction for Investments, Ministry of Energy

Mircea Valentin Cârlan is General Director of the General Direction for Investments of the Romanian Ministry of Energy.

He is a PhD in law, with more than 18 years’ experience in the Romanian governmental businesses and management of public sector related to funding and over 6 years in coordination and management positions in public sector institutions. Mr. Cârlan has long experience on strategic governmental affairs and policy making, planning, coordination and implementation of EU Funds, including National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the management of the relations with International Organisations. In the Ministry of Energy, Mr. Cârlan coordinates and contributes to the programming and implementation of financing programmes related to green energy and energy efficiency.

 

Alina Jalea: State Adviser for Climate Change and Energy Transition, Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania

Alina Jalea was appointed as State Adviser in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery on January 20, 2023. Her areas of responsibility include energy transition and climate change.

She is a career diplomat with over 20 years of experience at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Over the years, she has worked in both multilateral and bilateral diplomacy, as well as in consular affairs. She has held positions such as Deputy Head of Mission at the Romanian Embassy in Denmark (2017-2022), National Expert seconded to the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights in Vienna (2012-2016), and Romanian Consul in Denmark (2004-2009). In 2010, she completed a Master of Arts in International Relations at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University (USA). In 2000, she graduated from the Faculty of Philology, French-English section, at Ovidius University, Constanța. She has advanced professional proficiency in English and French, and intermediate proficiency in German and Spanish. She was born in February 1978, in Constanța.
