PeakIT008: The Way Forward in IT — Work. Mindset. Health. Energy

The IT industry is evolving fast. Technologies are changing, systems are becoming more complex, and the pressure to deliver and adapt is constantly increasing. In this context, a simple but important question comes up: how do we move forward?

This is the core idea behind the 2026 edition of PeakIT, taking place on April 22–23 in Brașov, at Hotel Aro Palace, organized by the AgileHub community.
This year’s theme — “The Way Forward in IT: Work. Mindset. Health. Energy.” — brings together both the technical side of the industry and the way people work within it.

PeakIT remains a tech-first conference, focused on practical content and real-world challenges. The agenda includes technical talks, hands-on sessions, and panel discussions covering current technologies, but also how engineers deal with complexity, scale, and constant change.

+42 speakers and real-world topics

The 2026 edition already brings together +42 confirmed speakers from Romania and internationally. Among them: Zoran Horvat, a software architect known for his practical approach to architecture and maintainability, Horia Niculescu (Google), working in data, AI & ML, and Bogdan Tudor, an expert in digital transformation and AI.

The topics are highly relevant and applied. From simplifying complex systems (“When Things Get Complex, Go Simple” – Andrei Danila) to cybersecurity challenges and the impact of deepfakes (Tudor Damian).

Other sessions will explore event-driven architecture pitfalls (Victor Rentea) and building AI solutions in sovereign and hybrid cloud environments (Mihai Tătarăn).

Panel discussions — connecting the dots

A central element of this year’s edition is the panel discussions, which will act as a true backbone of the conference. These sessions will bring together industry professionals for open conversations about major technological shifts and their impact on the way we work.

Topics include the impact of artificial intelligence on cybersecurity, including the rise of Shadow AI and how organizations are preparing for new defensive and offensive challenges in this space.

Another panel will explore the role of Java in the enterprise ecosystem and how the language continues to stay relevant, including in the context of AI-driven solutions.

Artificial intelligence will also be discussed from the perspective of its risks and pitfalls — from safety and compliance issues to its impact on how technical teams think and operate.

At the same time, several panels will focus on the evolution of IT roles and the future of the Romanian tech market, looking at the skills that are becoming increasingly valuable and how professionals can stay relevant in a constantly changing environment.

The agenda will also include discussions on tech entrepreneurship, partnerships, and startup building, offering different perspectives on the journey from idea to product and the challenges of building a tech company.

In line with this year’s theme, some panels will also cover less frequently discussed topics in tech conferences, such as health, personal balance, the role of sports in sustaining energy, and career opportunities in the gaming industry, a field that continues to grow rapidly.

More than a tech conference

PeakIT is not just about technology. It’s a space for learning, exchange, and community.

The conference is organized by AgileHub, a non-profit based in Brașov that, since 2013, has organized over 200 events, covering 150+ technical topics and bringing together more than 1,600 participants.

The philosophy stays the same:
#NoFlashyStuff  #SimplyLearning

Because in a fast-moving industry, it’s not just about the technologies you use — it’s also about how you choose to move forward.
