Opening presentations:

Gabriela Mihailovici – EU policy issues Advisor at the National Bank of Romania

Gabriela Mihailovici has worked at the National Bank of Romania for almost three decades, specializing in a wide range of European policy issues, from EU integration preparations and Euro adoption negotiations to accession to the Eurosystem. Previously, she worked for the World Bank in Washington DC, in the EMEA department. Between 2002-2006, she was part of the technical coordination team overseeing Romanian central bank’s accession to the European System of Central Banks, and between 2004-2020, she participated in multiple European technical assistance missions coordinated by the European Central Bank, Bundesbank, and Banca d’Italia for central banks in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania (the EU pre-accession component).

Perry V. Zizzi – Managing Partner at Dentons Romania and President of the Romanian Diversity Chamber of Commerce

Perry V. Zizzi is the Managing Partner of Dentons Romania, head of the Corporate practice group in Bucharest, and a core member of the Real Estate team. He has over a quarter century of experience advising on M&A in the emerging markets of Central and Eastern Europe, Western Europe, the US and elsewhere. He has particular expertise advising private equity clients and he is recognized as a market leader in real estate M&A. Perry is ranked “eminent practitioner” in the new edition of Chambers & Partners in the Real Estate sector. Clients value his input on complex mandates and describe him as “very supportive”, “always seeking to find a practical and fair solution with the minimum of fuss

Ioan Alin Nistor – Macroeconomic Analysis Director – Banca Transilvania and Finance Professor at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca

Ioan Alin Nistor is an economist and academic, currently serving as the Chief Economist at Banca Transilvania. With a distinguished academic background, he is a Professor of Finance at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, where he also held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Business for eight years. He has been teaching at universities abroad and has extensive expertise in corporate finance, banking, and behavioral finance, and is actively involved in both academia and the financial industry.

He holds an MBA from the University of Hull (2016-2018) as well as a certification in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute. His commitment to values-based leadership was strengthened by his graduation from the prestigious Aspen Institute – Public Service Leadership program. He has also expanded his global perspective through post-doctoral research at Kobe University in Japan. Since 2020, he has been a member of the boards of BT Asset Management and BT Leasing.  

 

 

Radu Magdin – CEO Smarklink, Honorary Advisor on External Relations at Bucharest Stock Exchange

Radu Magdin is a global analyst, consultant, trainer and think tanker. He is the CEO of Smartlink Communications, a consultancy company with global outreach. He worked with Prime Ministers, MPs, business leaders and performed trainings for large companies. He worked as an honorary advisor to the Romanian Prime Minister (2014-2015) and advised the Moldovan PM (2016-2017) on a range of strategic issues, from political strategy and communications to reforms implementation and external affairs.

A member of Forbes Business Council, Radu is currently the Vice-President of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce Singapore, as well as a correspondent of MEDEF International, Ambassador of CONAF Romania and an Honorary Advisor on External Relations for Bucharest Stock Exchange. 

 
Radu often participates as a speaker or moderator to regional and international trade and investments events, and is a widely quoted analyst by top tier global media.

 

 

Ileana Botez PhD, MBA – Head of Listing – Bucharest Stock Exchange

Ileana is one of the pioneers of the Romanian capital market, having an experience in this field for over 30 years. Since 1995 she has been working at the Bucharest Stock Exchange and has rich experience in the corporate field. From the general secretary of the company, director for listing & brokerage companies’ activities on the market, the company’s shareholders to the marketing, communication, and international relations areas of activities and corporate governance, Ileana currently coordinates the activity of admission to trading, as well as the financial education program “Fluent in Finance”.

She is an economist, specialized in Finance, a legal adviser with extended experience in capital markets and a trainer certified by the national authority. Ileana holds an MBA in Finance from Romanian Canadian program. She is very close to the academic environment as a lecturer at the University of Economic Studies in Bucharest. From 2020 she is a doctoral student with a topic in the field of corporate governance.

Since 2016 she is actively involved in associations as a volunteer, as President of Professional Women’s Network Romania since August 2021 after 5 years as Vice President of Women on Boards, as the initiator and ex-Vice President of the Association of Independent Administrators, member of the Association of Financial-Banking Analysts Romania (AAFBR) and the Association of Legal Advisers in the Financial-Banking System (ACJSFB). Ileana is also a lecturer and mentor within PWN Romania.

 

Iulia Lascau – Chair EMEA – BKR International and Managing Partne r- Argus Audit

Iulia Lascau is known for her entrepreneurial leadership and international experience in corporate governance and auditing. Since 2006, she has managed Argus Audit SRL in Bucharest, leading a team of financial service experts affiliated to BKR International. 

 

As Chair of the EMEA Board at BKR International, Iulia plays a crucial role in enhancing the association through strategic leadership. She is also the founding member and Chair of the Association of Professionals in Sustainability in Romania, where she unites experts to advance sustainable business practices. Additionally, Iulia serves as Vice Chair of the Independent Directors Association and mentors emerging leaders through the Professional Women’s Network Romania. 

 

Her pursuit of continuous learning, highlighted by her Master of Arts in Boards Practice and Directorship and an Executive MBA from Tiffin University, exemplifies her commitment to blending strategic leadership with a focus on governance and sustainability.

 

The event will be most relevant for top management representatives, senior executives, and company representatives involved in business planning, management and investment decisions.
