JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel joined the project coordinated by Gault & Millau Romania, preparing weekly, complimentary meals for the heroes fighting in the front line at Colentina hospital, alongside other 20 restaurants in the city, and supported by partners sustaining the program #dinGrija pentru cei care au grija”. From 19th of April until May 3rd, the team led by Chef Nicolae Lica, prepared 530 menus complimentary. Special thanks to all partners: Gault & Millau Romania for the entire coordination, Carrefour for donating the ingredients, Microgreens for providing the mini greens and vegetables, Biodeck for biodegradable and compostable packaging, and Ernst & Young România for all logistics support.
Meanwhile, in this time of social distancing, we stand by the children from SOS Satele Copiilor Romania. Chef Nicolae Lica is helping kids with new recipes, even from a distance, through short video materials, step by step. The need of creating daily activities and involvement for the children at SOS is very high during this time, and thanks to this initiative, children have the chance to take active part, alongside their care giver at SOS (Mama SOS) in preparing the shopping list, preparing the menu with their hands, working in teams, or with their brothers and sisters, and discovering the joy of having a meal that they cooked. These are the type of activities that help children have fun, but also gain new skills they will use in their life, on their own.
