Important changes in customs safety and security procedures which are coming into effect in the EU:
- On 1 March 2023, the European Union is launching the next phase of its customs pre-arrival security and safety programme, Import Control System 2 (ICS2) Release 2.
- From this date, Economic Operators, involved in sending, handling, shipping and transporting cargo, express or postal consignments to or via EU by air have to comply with new data reporting requirements for pre-loading and pre-arrival customs risk assessments. More precisely, all goods transported by air in postal, express and general cargo consignments will be subject to pre-loading filing requirements and to completing pre-arrival ENS data requirements.
- It is of vital importance that every economic operator directly or indirectly affected by ICS2 align their business processes with this new regulatory and operational regime and complete the necessary steps to conform.
