In the face of unprecedented environmental challenges, our imperative to embrace green energy solutions has never been more urgent. Today, we find ourselves at the intersection of necessity and possibility—a moment in history where the choices we make can redefine the trajectory of our planet.
From solar arrays that harness the power of our closest star to wind turbines that dance gracefully with the breeze, the landscape of sustainable energy is evolving at an unprecedented pace.
The Diplomat-Bucharest organizes GREEN ENERGY CONFERENCE dedicated to green updates in the energy field on September 12 at InterContinental Athénée Palace Bucharest (former Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest) Regina Maria Hall.
The world’s capacity to generate renewable electricity is expanding faster than at any time in the last three decades, giving it a real chance of achieving the goal of tripling global capacity by 2030 that governments set at the COP28 climate change conference last month, the International Energy Agency says in a new report. The report shows that under existing policies and market conditions, global renewable power capacity is now expected to grow to 7 300 GW over the 2023-28 period covered by the forecast. Solar PV and wind account for 95% of the expansion, with renewables overtaking coal to become the largest source of global electricity generation by early 2025. But despite the unprecedented growth over the past 12 months, the world needs to go further to triple capacity by 2030, which countries agreed to do at COP28 conference in December 2023.
As we explore the possibilities before us, let us not forget that our pursuit of green energy is not just a matter of choice – it is a moral imperative.
