The interest of companies in tax incentives, including those dedicated to research and development (R&D) activities, as well as in non‑refundable funding sources for investment projects, has increased significantly in recent years—particularly in the context of recent tax changes and the growing pressure on financial efficiency and cash flow. At the same time, we observe that, although the legislative framework provides relevant support instruments, the difficulty of practical implementation, legislative complexity, and the risks associated with tax audits lead many companies to remain cautious or to refrain from taking advantage of these instruments.
The event organized by EY Romania aims to provide a structured analysis of the main tax incentives and state aid schemes available for R&D and investment projects. It will also highlight the practical implications for the business environment and clarify the steps required to ensure alignment with legislative and compliance requirements, including from the perspective of tax audits and interactions with authorities.
