In February, it’s all about love. And it has echoes in all fields and industries. Thus, the Romanian software development company, Roweb, chooses to celebrate this month one of the values that have defined its brand since 2004: the passion for programming.

Starting from this concept, over time, Roweb began a series of activities that show how the passion for tech, the orientation towards progress and the desire to keep up with the trends and challenges of a dynamic environment managed to bring together a community of people who share the same concepts.

Here are some examples of such activities:

  • sharing details about the success stories of portfolio companies (many partnerships with clients continue to develop for over 10 years);
  • supporting education and specialised faculties by organising career events (summer practice, internships) and offering various sponsorships;
  • internal events (team building or parties) that bring together the teams from the three headquarters: Pitesti, Craiova and Bucharest;
  • participation in tech, business and e-commerce events to keep up with trends in the industry;
  • internal and external promotion of employees with technical skills, those who have been in the company for over 10 years, and those who hold coordination and management positions.

 And all these activities and events are under the umbrella of a concept defined by Roweb: #ForTheLoveOfProgramming.

Viorel Costea – Co-fondator & CEO Roweb

The Roweb story began during computer classes when a teacher (today, the company’s CEO – Viorel Costea) managed to instil a passion for programming in his students. Later, 3 of them (Gabriel Rosu, Razvan Veliscu, and Mirel Ionescu) became his partners in a business that was shaping up in a context in which digital was just a little more than a rumour.

“As a teacher, I’ve met students with great potential. It’s one of the privileges of teaching: to see not only what a student is, but also what he/she can become someday. Their enthusiasm and capabilities were definitely an inspiration for me.

On the other hand, I’ve noticed a real potential for creating an IT company on the market. So, putting these two together, I’ve realised soon that it would be a real lost opportunity not to involve some of my (former) students in a bold project.”

Other aspects about Roweb that are based on the passion for programming

The passion for programming made the company:

  • Offer digital development solutions for all types of companies, based on three popular outsourcing methods: extended, dedicated and project-based teams.
  • Bring together a team of over 130 English-speaking people. Over 50% of software developers are people eager for professional growth who have reached the senior level.
  • Create a strong brand that has collected over 100 projects in its portfolio.
  • Materialise the software developers’ work into digital transformation solutions that bring concrete results to entrepreneurs. However, these promising results also turn into positive reviews in dedicated platforms (for example, The Clutch or Good Firms), which recommend Roweb as a reliable collaborator.
  • Become a long-term partner for many companies from countries such as Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, the USA, Canada, Switzerland etc.
