Foreign Investors Summit 2026 to explore the investments shaping Romania’s next stage of development

The 13th edition of Business Review’s Foreign Investors Summit will bring together international business leaders, investors, diplomats, and public-sector representatives for a new edition focused on Romania’s competitiveness and investment outlook.

The event comes at a more demanding moment for international investment. Capital is becoming more selective, investors are scrutinising risk, costs, and predictability more closely, and markets across Central and Eastern Europe are competing increasingly hard for industrial projects, infrastructure investment, technology, and long-term capital.

Foreign Investors Summit 2026 will therefore centre on a fundamental question for Romania’s economy: how can the country strengthen its investment proposition and turn its existing advantages into new projects, capabilities, and long-term value?

A central part of the programme will examine Romania’s broader investment climate. Discussions will look at investor confidence, economic stability, business predictability, and the institutional conditions required to renew foreign investment momentum. European integration, access to finance, and Romania’s position relative to competing regional markets will provide further context for the debate.

Energy will remain one of the major themes of the summit. Romania is facing substantial investment needs and opportunities across generation, grids, storage, electrification, efficiency, and emerging technologies. The implications extend well beyond the energy sector itself. Modern infrastructure and access to competitive energy can directly influence Romania’s ability to attract industrial projects and support new investment across the economy.

Rapid technological change and Europe’s evolving security environment are also directing capital towards artificial intelligence, automation, defence production, and dual-use technologies. The summit will examine the opportunities created by Europe’s changing industrial priorities and Romania’s potential to develop local capabilities, production capacity, and partnerships in strategically important sectors.

Manufacturing, logistics, and trade will provide another major strand of the conversation. Romania’s competitiveness increasingly depends on its ability to produce at scale, move goods efficiently, and connect local operations to regional and global markets. Automotive transformation, new manufacturing investment, supply-chain resilience, and transport infrastructure are all influencing the development of established industrial hubs and emerging regional locations.

Agriculture and food production will be approached through the lens of value creation. Romania has substantial agricultural resources, but the investment opportunity extends into processing, technology, storage, logistics, and exports. Improving productivity and expanding domestic processing capacity could allow more value generated by Romanian agriculture to remain within the local economy.

Real estate will also remain an important indicator of investment confidence. Changing demand, financing costs, infrastructure development, and increasingly selective capital allocation are reshaping opportunities across residential, office, logistics, and mixed-use projects.

Across these themes, Foreign Investors Summit 2026 will offer a broad view of an economy entering a period of recalibration while retaining significant investment potential across several sectors. The event will focus on the projects, infrastructure, technologies, and business decisions that can generate new capacity, higher added value, and stronger links between Romania and the wider European economy.
