The 19th century characteristic music from Imperial Vienna has gained in recent years the increase of prestige and has found its place among music lovers in Romania. Johann Strauss Festival will enchant us with traditional waltzes and marches, marking at the same time 250 years from the birth of the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven, celebrated in 2020 in Germany and around the world.

The Johann Strauss Festival will spread the Viennese splendor in the heart of the Romanian Capital, at the Romanian Athenaeum, and later throughout the whole country, through a series of regional concerts: Sibiu, Oradea, Timișoara, Cluj. The Romanian Athenaeum, the emblematic monument of the capital, was chosen as the location for the 17th edition of the Johann Strauss Festival. The temple facade of the building, the magic of the music of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, merge into a space that is at once elitist and chic.

For over 150 years, the “George Enescu” Philharmonic Orchestra has been giving the pulse of Romanian musical life. Any appearance of the orchestra means a show. The first instrumental ensemble of the Philharmonic is casual, mature, balanced, full of imagination and with an artistic spirit at the same time professional and energetic, which makes the orchestra members to stand out. Each event is then displayed as a miniature replica of the unitary group and at the end you can go home keeping in mind a memorable solo.
