This week, the Romanian software development company, Roweb, plans to inaugurate the Computer Science laboratory for which it offered sponsorship.

The event will be attended by students from the technical faculties who will have the opportunity to meet the Roweb team and discuss the career event that is already underway: the 2023 summer practice.

The summer practice is a long-term traditional event for Roweb (organised since 2004), followed by a paid internship. According to statistics from recent years, over 80% of those who complete the summer practice become part of the Roweb team as part-time or full-time employees.

And among the advantages that the company offers to young people (students or graduates) who sign up for the summer practice are primarily interested in the following:

  • the possibility of working on a complete application using modern technologies and frameworks;
  • support and coordination throughout the internship and internship from dedicated mentors and coordinators;
  • integration into a young and tech-passionate team;
  • the possibility of obtaining the practice certificate and gaining relevant experience in a software development company to the CV;
  • flexibility and the possibility to continue attending courses and exams.

Other education support initiatives organised by Roweb

Since most of the company’s employees (over 85%) come from technical faculties, the initiative of the Roweb team for the local community usually supports local education by offering sponsorships.

For example, in 2022, Roweb supported the Tehno Z Lighting Bolts Robotics Team – providing financial support so that it could participate in the World Robotics Championship in Rio de Janeiro). At the same time, the company offered to sponsor an Informatics class for high school students.

Also, over time, Roweb has consolidated good relations with the technical faculties in the city – which allowed students to visit the Roweb offices in Craiova and Pitesti to spend time with software developers and to understand what it means to work in such a company.

For example, events like Open Doors or Job Shadow Days are always good ways of helping young people figure out if a career in IT would attract them.
