On 31 October, the grand ballroom of the Athénée Palace InterContinental Hotel will open its doors to a night unlike any other – the 28th Caledonian Ball.
For centuries, the Caledonian spirit has been one of tradition, music, dance and generosity. Here in Romania, this spirit has found a true home, bringing together friends old and new in an atmosphere of elegance and warmth. A feast of the senses awaits — the sound of pipes and reels, the taste of Scotland’s finest whisky, the delight of traditional food, and the joy of dancing together late into the night.
To help everyone fully enjoy the experience, we are delighted to offer Scottish dance practice sessions every Sunday at 19:00, starting on 21 September until 26 October, at the InterContinental Hotel. Whether you are new to the dances or simply wish to refresh your steps, these gatherings will be the perfect opportunity to get into the spirit of the Ball.
Yet beyond the music and laughter, the Caledonian Ball carries a deeper purpose. For 28 years, your presence has made every programme and step forward possible — from equipment and vocational training to guide dogs and inclusion. It is thanks to this community that Light into Europe continues to open doors that would otherwise remain closed, lighting the path to dignity, independence, and hope.
This year, once again, we warmly invite you to give — knowing that your generosity transforms a night of celebration into a legacy of opportunity and inclusion.
Together, we will celebrate the enduring friendship between Scotland and Romania, while also writing a new chapter of hope for those who need it most.
We warmly invite you to reserve your place at this unforgettable night – whether by booking a table with friends or securing your own ticket – and stand with us in making a lasting difference.
