BRCC Awards Gala

The British Romanian Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the launch of the BRCC AWARDS GALA, recognising the champions of 2022 in business, NGO’s and Education.

The awards gala dinner will take place on the 26th of January at the Marriott Hotel, Bucharest where we will be celebrating those BRCC members who have truly excelled in 2022.

As we are only allowed to welcome a limited number of participants, reservations are allocated in the order in which they are received. Please be aware, that only registered participants can be admitted. So, please let us know if you can attend by registering below until the 15th of January. Limited availability, members are prioritized.

Bookings are non-refundable after 10th of January, but at the discretion of the organizer, you can change the name of the person(s) attending.

Can all members apply?

  • The awards are open to BRCC members active in the UK and Romania, and we encourage businesses from all sectors to apply, regardless of their size or current resources.
  • New members joining in January 2023 will also be considered, pasted members won’t be considered
  • The initiative(s) put forward in the application must have taken place in Romania and/or in the UK to be considered applicable
  • Membership of BRCC is a mandatory to apply to different categories, applications are not limited to only one category if it fits company’s profile and current projects.

 

Can I apply to several categories?

Each initiative can only be entered for one award category If an organization wishes to apply for more than one category, they can do so if they submit different projects.

What happens after you submitted your application?

We will notify you once the application and/or project is submitted.

Afterwards, the applications will then be reviewed by our jury who will shortlist 3 companies per category depending on the importance and impact of the project.

The winners will be announced during a black-tie dinner and awards ceremony on 26th of January.

Catalina Rousseau – Majority Shareholder, President & CEO of BDR Associates Communication Group

Catalina Rousseau is the majority Shareholder and President & CEO of BDR Associates Communication Group, that she founded in November, 1995. Aa a reputed senior strategic communication consultant, Catalina is specialized in elaborating and developing communication strategies for private national and multinational companies, as well as for governmental institution in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova. She has extended experience in developing media strategies and media campaigns, as well as in creating communication strategies aiming at solving crisis situations and consolidating companies ‘ s reputation in the local market. Along the years she has received outstanding recognition for her professional achievements among which: Certificate of Merit from the US government for an USAID funded IEC campaign in the Republic of Moldova; elected four times in the top 100 business women of Romania by Capital magazine; recently nominated by the Forbes Romania magazine in top 50 most influencing personalities in communication; awarded the “Women who change Romania” trophy, by Piata financiara magazine, along with other reputed business women. Catalina is a standing member in International Juries for PR competition like: The European Excellence Awards, the US Stevie Awards/Women in Business , the Romania PR Awards competition, the Best PR Leader-2020 WCFA Regional Awards, other international competition of the kind. She was also elected twice, as a member of the Business Review Jury awarding recognition for outstanding  business performance, acting once as the president of the jury. In the past she was a Board member of the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC) business association.

 

Mihai Marinescu – Business Transformation Director at EY Romania

Mihai is a director on BRCC’s board since 2019. His life journey took him to New York and London, where he spent 15 years working on major transformation initiatives in the investment banking industry before returning to Bucharest in 2018 to become EY Romania’s Business Transformation Director. Besides EY, Mihai is also involved in a local startup activating in the craft beer industry and is an associate teacher at FABIZ / Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, teaching Digital Transformation for the Masters programme.

Madalina Racovitan – Head People Services at KPMG Romania

Mădălina is a Partner, Head People Services at KPMG Romania.

Mădălina has developed KPMG’s Global Mobility Services practice and further set-up the People Services function in Romania. The People Services practice now combines the teams of Global Mobility, Immigration Services, Payroll Outsourcing, Employment Law and Human Resources Advisory, who work together to help clients with many different issues related to the management of their human capital. She also coordinated the internal HR function of KPMG in Romania & Moldova where she implemented a series of forward thinking projects which aimed at improving the people experience at KPMG.

Ciprian Sandu – Senior Public Affairs Manager of Provident Financial Romania

Ciprian is the Senior Public Affairs Manager of Provident Financial Romania and certified coach, member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. With more than 15 years experience in the governmental field, communication, public affairs and reputation management, Ciprian possess an in-depth knowledge of both domestic and European institutional architecture and decision-making process, ensuring proper stakeholder management by deploying integrated strategies of public affairs and communication.

Before joining Provident Financial Romania, Ciprian served in government bodies, public affairs consultancy and the Brewers of Romania association.  His educational background includes a bachelor degree in public administration and a master degree in European integration. Nicolas Georghiades was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1971. He has obtained a BA in Accounting and Financial Management from Essex University, as well an MSC in Internal Audit and Management from City Business School. He is the COO of the Alison Hayes Group, one of the leading UK companies designing and manufacturing clothes for Top UK Retailers. The company has also a significant presence in Romania, Moldova, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. During the pandemic the Group has evolved introducing medical and protective clothing and equipment to is portfolio.
