Nașterea unui copil ar trebui să fie un moment plin de bucurie. Din păcate însă, de multe ori, realitatea arată cu totul altfel.
La fiecare 7 ore, un copil mai mic de un an din România, pierde lupta pentru viața. Iar de prea multe ori, cauza este lipsa accesului la servicii medicale adecvate. Este un fenomen extrem de îngrijorător, însă credem cu tărie că voința și implicarea au puterea de a combate chiar și cele mai sumbre statistici.
Pornind de la această convingere, începând din anul 2012, mare parte dintre eforturile Fundației Vodafone România au fost canalizate către crearea unei infrastructuri de tratatament neonatal la standarde internaționale.
Ce am reușit până acum:
- Construirea unei noi secții de terapie intensivă neonatală la Spitalul Clinic de Urgență “Maria Sklodowska Curie”, ceea ce ne-a dat posibilitatea să salvăm in 6 ani cu peste 1.800 mai mulți copii (aproximativ 300 anual) comparativ cu perioada anterioară.
- Modernizarea compartimentului de terapie intensivă neonatală de la Spitalul Județean Constanța.
Ce ne propunem:
Reușitele de la Marie Curie și Spitalul Județean Constanța ne-au arătat că se poate și ne-au dat încrederea că acestea pot fi replicate și în alte spitale din România.
Ne propunem să creștem șansele de supraviețuire pentru nou-născuții cu probleme medicale severe, oferindu-le condiții optime pentru stabilizare, diagnosticare și tratament adecvat.

Obiectivele noastre sunt ambițioase, iar pentru a le atinge, avem nevoie și de sprijinul tău. Chiar și un efort mic, poate face o diferență uriașă. Redirecționează 3.5% din impozitul tău pe venit și hai să dăm împreună o șansă la viață micuților din secțiile de terapie intensivă.
Give first aid for the newborn intensive care units!
The birth of a child should be a moment full of joy. Unfortunately, many times, the reality looks completely different.
Every 7 hours, in Romania, a child that has not reached the age of one loses the fight for life. Too often, the cause is the lack of access to adequate medical services. It is an extremely worrying phenomenon, but we believe that strong will and involvement have the power to overturn even the darkest statistics.
Animated by this conviction, since 2012, most of Vodafone Romania Foundation’s efforts were directed towards creating an infrastructure in order to provide neonatal treatment at international standards.
What we have achieved so far:
- We have built from scratch a new neonatal intensive care unit at the Emergency Clinical Hospital “Maria Sklodowska Curie”. Since the inauguration, 6 years ago, the number of saved children increased by over 1,800 children (about 300 more annually compared to the figures of the old unit).
- We have modernized the neonatal intensive care unit at the Constanța County Hospital.
What we want to achieve:
The results achieved at the Marie Curie and at the Constanța County Hospital showed us that it can be done and gave us the confidence to replicate this kind of projects in other hospitals all over Romania.
Our scope is to increase the chances of survival for newborns with severe medical problems, providing them with optimal conditions for stabilization, diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
