Location:Iasi

The third edition of the IASI Economic Forum will be organized on June 4 and 5, 2026 and will benefit, like previous editions, from international participation.

The event is designed as a platform for debating economic challenges both in the Euro-regional geopolitical context and in the light of the internal economic situation, aiming to facilitate the exchange of information and the conclusion of business partnerships.

After two successful editions that took place in 2024 and 2025 and brought together 350+ participants each, this year’s edition aims for an extended program and an increase in internationalization. Thus, in addition to the delegates from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, countries that have been represented so far, delegates from Poland, Germany and the United Kingdom are expected to participate this year.

The topics covered will be varied, offering a wide range of options:

  • Infrastructure and logistics. The potential for the development of public and private investments.
  • Accelerated Economic Integration Romania – Republic of Moldova: Concrete Mechanisms and Instruments.
  • Cooperation at the level of local public administration Romania – Republic of Moldova – Ukraine.
  • The new fiscal reality: ANAF controls, mandatory internal audit and business protection strategies.
  • Energy, Decarbonization and Blue Economy. Principles, solutions and examples of good practices in Romania and the EU.
  • Legislative levers Romania – Republic of Moldova – Ukraine. Investment development and legal operation of bilateral and trilateral businesses.
  • Digitalization and innovation. Accelerated digital transformation of the way businesses operate.
  • Opportunities for collaboration and financing of business development, in Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
  • Salary Transparency – from legal compliance to competitive advantage.

“The Economic Forum is meant to strengthen the position of our city as a strategic regional hub on the investment map, promoting business collaboration on the eastern flank of the European Union. It also comes with practical resources for companies: from digitalization and innovation, to taxation and human resources, with very important focus topics.”, said Paul Butnariu, president of the Iasi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the organizer of the event.

The Forum will be attended by entrepreneurs and managers, political leaders and representatives of the central and local public administration, ambassadors, consuls and commercial attachés of embassies in the region and of the investor countries, representatives of civil society and academia. The program will include both a plenary session and debates in specialized panels, as well as business-to-business networking sessions.

One of the key speakers of the Forum will be Dr. Delia Dimitriu – a member of the team that won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for her work in the field of climate change, part of the IPCC Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change – will address current issues in the area of sustainable development and global economic transformations, offering participants a valuable perspective on the challenges and opportunities shaping the economy of the future.

Daniel Rusen – Central Europe Business Applications & Platforms Director, Microsoft Romania, will discuss topics such as: artificial intelligence and optimization of business processes that lead to the reduction of operational costs, automation of tasks and increased productivity in organizations, digital tools and solutions that can accelerate the transformation of companies.

The energy sector is not left aside either: Cornel Zeveleanu – Director of the Corporate Affairs and European Funds Department, Delgaz Grid will talk about the Power up project that aims to bring the region of Moldova more visible on the investment map, capitalizing on the existing infrastructure, ongoing projects and local economic potential. Thus, Delgaz Grid assumes an active role, not only as a network operator, but as a partner in supporting the socio-economic development of the area.
