A new partnership has been added to the Roweb portfolio: custom development for Litera, one of the largest publishing houses in the country. The project is based on Magento 2, a top technology for eCommerce solutions.

Roweb formed a dedicated team to cover all roles required for Litera platform development, from senior software developers to QA experts, to optimize work processes.

Litera – the eCommerce platform developed starting from the client’s needs

As the popularity of the Litera platform grew, the client realized the need for a secure eCommerce solution to comply with regulations.

The platform owner required a reliable solution, especially during peak campaign seasons like Black Friday and winter holidays.

Upon taking over the project, Roweb discovered that the platform was built on an outdated version of Magento, negatively impacting the user experience.

The initial platform’s central core had been modified, causing recurring issues with updates, whether it was the regular interface or adding new features.

The website was hosted on rented servers with limited administrative support and inadequate GDPR compliance.

Thus, Roweb’s experts faced the challenge of upgrading the platform to a modern and easy-to-manage version while catering to two categories of users: the Litera team needing a better order management process and readers requiring exploration of new functionalities.

Roweb also aimed to maintain a high-quality standard in a competitive industry by implementing functionalities such as:

  • Special product listings – displayed based on criteria like bestsellers, most-read, and special offers through dynamic and intuitive widgets.
  • Advanced filtering system – allowing users to filter products according to price, applied discounts, best-selling products or book release dates.
  • Product suggestions mode – offering personalized recommendations according to category, author, etc. criteria, considering user preferences and browsing history.
  • Book pre-order system – allowing pre-ordering of titles currently being published.
  • Pages dedicated to the author – offering readers the opportunity to find all the books belonging to a specific author.
  • Integration with Litera audiobook and ebook platforms – expanding the range of content consumption options.
  • A rating system based on star reviews – allowing users to rate and provide feedback quickly.
  • Personalized headers/banners – depending on the seasonal offers to draw attention to them.
  • Automatic subscription system: – allowing users to automatically receive titles from a series without following the appearance of each issue of the respective series.

Collaboration with Litera continues, with Roweb offering maintenance, support services, and new functionality development as needed by the client.
