11.11.2019 – A_BEST Foreign Language Center celebrated 11 years of activity. A_BEST (http://abest.ro/ro/), one of the largest independent foreign language learning centers in Romania, with a remarkable portfolio of clients from the Top 300, celebrated 11 years of activity at Tucano Coffee Madagascar – Afi, a warm and friendly café filled with positive energy which successfully managed to introduce our guests to the Love.Peace.Coffee philosophy.
At the event organized by the A_BEST Foreign Language Center, in partnership with the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRCC), A_BEST customers, partners and collaborators, as well as entrepreneurs and BRCC members attended, the location being reserved exclusively for them.
A_BEST guests not only savored the best coffee, the finest prosecco and the most exquisite desserts, but also had the opportunity to participate in experience exchanges in a laidback business networking environment. At the same time, everyone also participated in a raffle with various prizes, generously offered by the event partners.
To mark its 11 years of activity on the language training market, the A_BEST event also included a surprise moment, namely the launch of the A_BEST Teachers’ Club Association, a project dedicated to supporting teachers in secondary schools, by providing training and professional support.
“A_BEST Teachers’ Club is a non-profit organization set up to contribute to the development of the education sector by improving the professional skills of teachers and trainers in Romania. We will promote continuous education among teachers and trainers, in particular by organizing training and practical training programs in order to develop teaching skills, to relate to students and learners, to understand learners’ needs in order to achieve learning objectives. We will also organize conferences, workshops and summer schools for teachers and trainers,” said Aura Icodin, Founder and CEO, A_BEST Foreign Language Center.
11 years of A_BEST activity, in numbers
During its 11 years of activity, A_BEST organized training projects in the foreign language field for over 250 companies (from Bucharest and from the country), 70% of them being from the Top 300, from areas such as IT, Telecommunications, Banking, Insurance, Pharma, FMCG, Transportation and Logistics. The A_BEST team currently has a portfolio of 10 foreign languages and delivers foreign language courses in Bucharest and 3 other cities in the country (Timişoara, Cluj, Brasov), with a dynamic team, made up of over 30 linguists.
The main companies that invest in foreign language courses are those with foreign capital, which are interested in English, German or French courses. During 2014 – 2018, the A_BEST Foreign Language Center had over 6500 corporate trainees, the trainers delivering over 45,000 course hours in the aforementioned period. This year, a total of 8000 hours of corporate courses is estimated.
The A_BEST trainees are employees in multinational companies, generally young people, between 25 and 35 years old, but also employees holding management positions (top and middle management), who want to learn at least one foreign language, in order to interact with their business partners from other countries. At the same time, among the A_BEST trainees there are also expats from companies or embassies, who want to learn Romanian in order to be able to communicate both for work and in their private life. They come from 4 continents, namely Europe, Asia, South America and North America. It is worth taking into account that about 75% of them hold top positions in multinational companies with a local presence (CEOs, CFOs, Country Managers etc.).
In addition to corporate language courses, A_BEST also offers: open system courses, for adults, courses for teenagers and children (through the A_BEST Kids & Teens Division), translation services and linguistic audit services.
For 2019, the A_BEST Foreign Language Center estimates a turnover of approximately 300,000 euros net, and for 2020 the management of the company wants to increase its turnover by 20%.
