The BRCC Sibiu Region was delighted to recently help a regular British visitor promote her third Transylvanian Book Festival event www.transylvanianbookfestival.co.uk which takes place annually near Medias in Sibiu County.   The event is organised with the local support of Beatrice Ungar, the editor of local German newspaper, Hermannstadter Zeitung.

This years event ended with a new generation classical music concert in Sibiu at the German Forum Hall of Mirrors event venue, featuring three young yet highly accredited British musicians coming through.  These were:

  • Frederic Bager on Piano who has won a place at both the Royal Academy and the Royal College of Music;
  • George Cooke on Cello who is also a composer and has already featured on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4
  • Jaymee Coonjobeeharry on Flute who has just debuted with the London Philarmonic Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. His Flight of the Bumblebee videoclip filmed on Classic FM has been viewed over 135,000 times.

The visiting musicians were both pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed their short trip to Transylvania.

Also supporting the conference this year was the British Council, which the BRCC are delighted to work alongside and will seek to find further collaborative opportunities.
