On 28 February 2018, three of the very best GDPR and Antitrust experts come for the first time to Bucharest at the event organized by Raluca Nechimis Law Office and EMEA Conferences to discuss with you the practical implications of the GDPR.

The conference sheds light on the in-depth effects of GDPR upon the business activity. It underlines the way that compliance with GDPR must take into account potential liability under competition regulations.

Therefore, by attending the conference you will learn about the competition risks attached to the portability right and what to do to avoid such risks. Philipp Werner, Partner with Jones Day Brussels, will explain how GDPR and antitrust intersect.

You will also learn how to better face the challenges triggered by running a data inventory & data mapping or a data protection impact assessment within your company and what you must take into account. Sebastiaan Passtoors from Cranium has an extensive hands-on practice in advising companies what measures to undertake to be GDPR compliant and he will provide real examples and solutions to the problems corporations encounter when running a data inventory & data mapping or a data protection impact assessment.

Furthermore, you will get clarifications on the circumstances under which data processors risk being qualified as data controllers and what to do to avoid the risk. Further you will better understand the challenges for data processors under the GDPR and what to take into account when offering international cloud services. This will be shared with you by Dr. Jorg Hladjk, Of Counsel, Data privacy and Cybersecurity Practice with Jones Day Brussels, who will provide more insights into this by sharing concrete case-law.

In addition, you will learn from Oana Luisa Dumitru with ANSPDCP what criteria are to be taken into consideration when applying the fines and if the fines will be applied mandatorily for all breaches.

The conference will be held in English language on the beautiful premises of villa Sturza – Carturesti Verona, and will be followed by a wine and cheese tasting. The event starts at 3 PM.
