Oxford For Romania aims to bring to Oxford 15 high-school students with proven potential for excellence and who come from less privileged backgrounds in Romania for a week of multidisciplinary classes and immersion in the Oxonian environment.
This summer school is endorsed by the Oxford University Romanian Society. As one of the most reputable educational establishments in the world, home to a wealth of gifted students, researchers and dedicated educators, Oxford University hosts over 120 Romanian students. Romania has an impressive number of gifted students, whose professional aspirations are limited by their financial situation and by an educational system that does not manage to provide either inspiration or adequate facilities.
Oxford For Romania is the meeting point between those who are here and those who could be here in the future.
The pilot program will be funded via a combination of crowd-funding and institutional support based on a ‘Send a student to Oxford’ model.
