As 2017 unfolds its celebrations and enjoyments, we think Burns Night is a great excuse to get together with family, colleagues and friends for a night of fun, food and Scottish culture!

You are therefore invite to join us to the 14th Burns Supper in Bucharest, at the Sala Ronda of the Intercontinental Hotel, on Sat 21 January from 6.30pm till late!

Robert Burns was one of Scotland’s literary greats, pioneering the Romantic movement in the 18th century, but what exactly was he writing about?  His works are still discussed and debated by literary experts around the world, and enjoyed by all.

Celebrated annually at the end of January, Burns Supper gathers Scots and Scots-at-heart around the world to pay tribute to the great poet’s life and works. All too human in his personal life, he carried that humanity over onto the page. Nothing was too small or too large to escape his notice, from a mouse in the mud to God in his heavens. A poet for all seasons, Burns speaks to all, soul to soul.

We will mark the occasion with a delicious hearty feast, showcasing the best of Scottish produce, including haggis and whisky; recite Burns poetry and then dance the night away as the Feis Rois musicians from Inverness will entertain us with reels and jigs until early morning.

In a nutshell,  there will be good company and loads of fun. So inviting friends and colleagues is highly encouraged!

Don’t worry if you don’t know the steps as a caller will be on hand to guide you through each dance.

In line with Burns’s passion for social change and better future, Burns Supper is a fundraising event to support the essential education, employment and daily living services for Romanian children and young people living with sight or hearing loss.

Enjoy this celebration of Scottish culture and traditions in support of Light into Europe Charity work with Blind & Deaf people, with the chance to meet some of our Guide Dogs for the Blind & beneficiaries.

Tickets available in advance from burns-supper@lightintoeurope.org or by calling 0758 246 749 / 021 224 4608.
