Summary

Towards the begining of a new year, KPMG Tax and KPMG Legal wish to keep our Pharma and Medical Services clients up to date with highly important regulatory issues relevant to their industries.

The Pharma and Medical Services Industries will be strongly impacted by the GDPR, which imposes enhanced obligations from organizations processing personal data and sensitive personal data as well new rights to data subjects. Companies in these industries who are processing sensitive personal data must review their processes and take measure to ensure compliance with GDPR requirements. With the GDPR entering into force in May 25th 2018, KPMG Legal will provide a practical discussion which will help Pharma and Medical Services clients to assess their readiness for GDPR.

The Transfer Pricing Update will provide clients with an analysis of the value chain analysis under the new OECD approach underlined by the BEPS Actions. Attribution of additional profits becomes an analysis beyond transfer pricing, thus enabling permanent establishment rules.

Services, while looking straightforward from a business point of view, face the need to be supported in more detail by financial calculations and projections, irrespective of whether it’s a marketing service, an IT service or other service. The operating professionals (IT specialists and others) should be aware of the requirements that the financial team in the company is facing in relation to those operations.
