COBCOE’s prestigious annual gala event is the highlight in the COBCOE annual calendar of social and business events and is a celebration of the prolific talent and achievement within the British bilateral Chamber movement across Europe. The event is attended by COBCOE’s member chambers’ Board members and senior executives, business members of the chambers across Europe, COBCOE’s partners and affiliates and members of British chambers belonging to the wider British Business Worldwide alliance across the world. Other guests include members of parliament, journalists, members of the overseas and British diplomatic corps, UK and overseas government officials as well as business leaders and high wealth individuals from across the world. The event will also feature our annual Chamber of the Year awards and newly launched Business Awards.

Karan-Bilimoria-headshot-black-1-590x786Guest speaker Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE. DL Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, DL is the founder of Cobra Beer, Chairman of the Cobra Beer Partnership Limited and Molson Coors Cobra India. He is the Founding Chairman of the UK India Business Council, a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London, and a former Chancellor of Thames Valley University (now the University of West London) and appointed as the 7th Chancellor of the University of Birmingham. Lord Bilimoria is Senior Non-Executive Director of the Booker Group PLC, the FTSE 250 Company of Booker Prize fame; he is one of the first two visiting entrepreneurs at the University of Cambridge; he is a founding member of the Prime Minister of India’s Global Advisory Council. In 2006, Karan Bilimoria was appointed the Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea and in 2008 he was awarded the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman by the President of India. He is an honorary fellow of Sidney Sussex College Cambridge and a Member of the Advisory Board of the Judge Business School, Cambridge University. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young and graduated in law from the University of Cambridge. He is an alumnus of the Cranfield School of Management, the London Business School and the Harvard Business School.
