Casa Ioana is Bucharest’s leading charity provider of temporary accommodation and professional psychosocial support for women and children experiencing domestic abuse and family homelessness. We rely heavily on our gala to raise the money needed to continue our work. With the Romanian government providing just 14% of our funding needs, we depend on our partners from the corporate and business sectors as well as the public.
In 2015, Casa Ioana supported 21 families and 11 single women in our centres and spent Ron 460,970 (€103,600) in helping them make a positive change in their lives, free from fear. Administrative cost, amounted to just 7% of the total. I have attached our 2015 annual report if you want to know more about what we do.
This year’s gala promises to be our best event yet and starts at 8pm with welcoming drinks, followed by dinner and a leading Romanian band that will provide our dance music. The event brings together individuals from a number of different companies and business sectors, making it a great networking opportunity! A celebrity surprise act promises to enthral us, whilst our major auction prizes will offer incredible bargains for some fortunate people. The raffle prizes will offer tantalising prizes to those who are lucky enough to win. The ticket price covers everything, including a donation towards Casa Ioana’s work, and costs Ron 400.
